A musket load of rock salt would probably be the fastest way to inculcate the desired respect for other's property, but may chip the paint of said chariot.
I believe it is legal to shoot persons engaged in malicious mischief, especially fence cutters, at night in TX. It's not encouraged, but legal.
I suggest you check your local statutes before loading yer musket though.
