MK drew back into the den slowly, not completely sure what that feeling meant. Pressing against the dark wall, she watched the entrance, not sure what to think. Dust had settled on the wet fur and become ridged on the hybrid's cheeks. Her deep blue eyes were red and puffy around the cornea, giving the mix a distressed and wild look. Why am I here? She had returned to the one place where everyone hated her, the one place she might be killed. Is that it? Should I die? Her mind was plagued with a sickness that even she didn't understand, a sickness caused by a lack of connection and love in her infancy. And now she roamed this barren wasteland in search for death, that merciful thing, and leave herself and others to peace. Enormous as she was, the black and white husky patterns on her broadened wolf-like frame blended well in the shadow and light patterns in the dried grasses. Silently, the mix made her way to the heart of the pack, knowing she had to find Taboo, Terra, Zebbidiah, or Nightmare's Curse before Aquiose showed up. If she was to be killed, she would not be able to do it with Aquiose around. The poor brute had suffered enough in her presence to make sure she stayed alive, it would hurt him so to see her die now. With her split nose to the ground, she made her way towards the rock and the den, the places that most of the pack cluttered around during the night. Avea was about a thousand or so paces from the den when she heard that chilling distress call, a voice she knew only too well. The sudden sound had caused her to crouch instinctively, submerging herself in the tall grasses. A white streak sprang from the den in the direction of the sound, a black not far behind. Dammit! Dammit ALL! Aquiose had been fast behind her, faster than she had anticipated. That left only one option. She would have to commit an act that sentenced her to execution.. The large hybrid eased back onto her feet, bloodshot eyes fixed on the den. A small black puffy thing had come to the entrance, not seeing her, but shied away. The pup knew, even without seeing, what was going to happen. Avea jogged at a slight crouch to the den's large entrance and peered in with her demon eyes. It was the little black fem that she had tried to scar when they met. It stared up at her, pressed again the moist wall on the far side of the den, golden eyes filled with innocence. Avea creeped slowly to the pup and put her nose at ground level, eyes at the height of the pup's. She was so bid that her tail could not fit inside, sticking out of the entrance by about four inches. For a moment, all she did was stare, and the pup stared back. She thought hard, trying to recall the name she had overheard, but was not told. It hurt to think of such things, to think that the pup would not understand either. "Midnight Kiss?" Midnight started shaking when she saw her older sister at the entrance, remembering the last time they met. If it hadn't been for her older brother, Zebbidiah, she would have been dead. It occurred to the little pup now that nobody else was around. It was just she and the demon, now nose to nose. All she could do was wait for her to strike. But amazingly, the large fem did not kill her right away, but rather stared her in the eyes. Middy stared back, shocked at what she saw. There was no violence or mellevilence this time, but sadness and distraught discomfort. The little black pup looked to the fem's cheeks where mud was caked and crystallized. It gave her sister the look of a dirty, abandoned child begging for care. Even at her young age, Midnight Kiss understood these things. Probably more so than any full grown wolf would in their lack of innocence and impersonal understanding. Then the large mix spoke, spoke her name. Her voice was dry as if she had been crying for quite some time, but it was soft and rather warm. Midnight Kiss moved towards her, slowly, and touched her nose to her sister's. Her little pink tongue was hardly able to wet the dry, cold surface, but she lick it a couple times, hoping Avea would get the message. Avea's nose began to burn as the pup licked it, dried salt now sliding into the scabbing slice her brother had laid on it. Tears welled in her eyes. She couldn't believe herself. How could she think of doing this? To a pup that didn't know anything.. A soft whine escaped her throat, barely audible to the pup before her. Her large tongue slid between her dry lips and caressed the pup's maw lightly. Avea's tail wagged lightly against the walls of the den, causing dust to spiral out of it. Avea looked down at the pup, ears focused on the little fuzball before her. Then, before she really knew what she was doing she had whispered, more to herself than the pup. "Do you love me?" The pup stared up at her, golden eyes bright and softly framed by her black lashes. She was beautiful in this darkness, a wolven angel. The little black fem wagged her tail and yapped, pounding the ground with her forepaws. So cute. Avea licked Midnight again, then carefully picked her up. "Let's go out, shall we?" she asked through her fuzzy mouthful as she stepped out into the moonlight with her little sister. The pup groaned as she was set down, glad that they had finally come to terms. Avea wagged her tail and nudged the pup lightly, just happy for some normal company. The stream had been searched up and down, yet nothing found, not even a trace of scent. The white wolfess had taken to the center of the lands, non-systematically looking. Just looking anywhere. She was distraught and enraged, and practically out of her mind searching for the devilish fem. Then she saw it, the large mix standing over one of her recent litter. Terra let out a frantic bark and shot over the fields toward the two, face contorted to a snarl.

A breeze ruffled the fur on the only pup left in the den, causing it to stir and whimper a bit in discomfort. Her golden eyes fluttered open and she stood up with a deep yawn. Shaking the dust from her black puppy fuz, the little furball looked around but saw no one. Giving another, louder, whimper, the little fem peered out the den carefully.
