Zebbidiah snapped to life at his father's voice, knowing that Taboo usually called for utter obedience and respect. Seeing the black hybrid's relaxed posture confused Zeb a bit, not used to his father being... well... fatherly. And on top of it all, Taboo had called him 'Zeb'. This was by far the most shocking of anything. The zinc brute couldn't recall any time before now that his father had called him anything but his full name. Zebbidiah sat down and locked his icy blue eyes with his father's matching ones. The boiling feeling had left his body, now cool and a bit relaxed.
Looking at Taboo with a searching stare, Zeb thought this couldn't come at a better time. Maybe when his father had finished talking about whatever it was he needed to, Zebbidiah could ask a few of his own questions. Rapier's comments had caused him to lag on one thing for many days... His grandfather. What was it he needed to know? Zeb silently wished Rapier had told him more.
"What is it, father?" Zebbidiah asked with polite innocence. Perhaps even Taboo's troubles would explain something...
