Maybe you would consider fostering..here, if you foster, the agency pays all expenses..food and vet care if needed. My son and his wife fostered dogs...their last foster was a beagle. They had him for months..the family had a house fire and while living in hotels and rentals they couldn't have the dog..months later, after they became settled, they decided they didn't want him back..so he was adopted by a family who promptly returned him and said he didn't get along with their other dog..so my son didn't want to see him going to another house, so they adopted him...A foster fail.. They didn't want a dog because they both travel with their jobs but they found a nice place to board him. He likes going there too...
