Look guys don't get me wrong- but the macs just aren't what there "hyped" really or the "b###chin'" ligitamate. the fact that your paying an exuberant price for (face it) little power and hardrive- no extra anything! Every damn thing is extra out the wazzoo -like a diggin' floppy drive -or 2nd cdr-or perhaps a better friggn' Hd! For every little thing there is a high premium even the software is bone thin and pricier.
*FACT- Anyone who knowns anything about real macs and dual processers know that they are never fully ultilized, unless in "specific dedicated programs for such a system to divide data flow- such a adobe's photoshop (originally needed a plug-in after the first duals were introduced). Today's mac are the same 1Ghz duals means your comp- runs at max 1Ghz. OSX is a good os(can move my menu bar to the bottom -like my pc!) though kinks' are in the compatibility department. Get real and buy a Dell dude'- I just did(fabulous!) For a decent Mac go for the G4 single processor tower -silver and load it to hell-scsi,dual 40 ide's, 2nd burner, oh RAM--special monitor,etc.. ( about 5 grand -with the periperals and extras on my new dell in total was a little under 2 grand!) With Macintosh there's no deals-yo. But if you got the cash to burn- they're a fine way to spend it. -(and they look cool too). peace all,
