I'm on G3 400 mhz pb now...was doing limited audio but every day I seem to use more and more vsts, track more stuff in, and monitor more inputs through logic. I'm running a motu 828 which is all i need and if the computer could handle it I'd do away with the mixer altogether. I haven't really run into many problems yet, surprisingly, but as my use changes, becoming more and more software intensive, I will soon enough. I don't know...I may just upgrade to a tibook and forget it. If my g3 can do what I'm doing now with no problems I really can't foresee a newer laptop failing in the power department, especially if I tacked on a firewire hard drive. I'm so ambivalent on this one...g4 tower? laptop? wait? go PC and save some money? Actually bought a nord 2 recently but it's going back to free up cash for a computer. I need to stop being such a ####ing luddite and at least move away from hardware a little more.
