although after the 1972 Stones concert in Chicago, three buddies and myself were all conked out at the end of the Ravenswood line and the conductor had to roust all of us out the door. Previous Message I got into a cab, drunkenly, after leaving happy hour when I lived in Chicago around 2008. I passed out. The driver drove me around to the tune of about 90 bucks. I was going from UIC Halsted to Wicker Park. When we get to Wicker Park he wakes me up and tells me I owe 90 bucks. I was trashed but not so trashed that I didn't know 3 miles was less than 90 bones. I tell him I'm not paying. He locks the doors and drives me to the CPD station on California and radios in that he has a drunk trying to stiff him his ride. When we get there, the police cuff me, frisk me, question me, etc. When the story of the long ride comes out, they let me go...but it wasn't without paying my pound of flesh. Had I actually been refusing to exit the cab and refusing to pay a legit ride, they would have arrested me on the spot.
