can actually cover all possible "fair" outcomes. And if they do by some strange slight of hand, get the laws right, they will likely offend some group who believe they are marginalized. We have gone from a society that was built to protect the whole, to a society where every member must have their unique self identification protected, regardless of the harm to overall society. Sometimes I wish that the sun would just let out a giant EMP burst and knock us all back into the stone age. Maybe humans would relearn what real hardship is. Previous Message We are now told that you are whatever gender you say you are, not defined by what physical anatomy you are born with. So...why is Texas allowing a boy wrestle girls and rewarding the boy with a State championship trophy? That's incredibly unfair to all the girls, correct? Previous Message Interesting piece where a transgender male (was a girl) won the Texas state HS wrestling championship for girls. Rules required participation in the girls' tournament. As you can imagine, this is a difficult problem, and it isn't helped by the direct, personal nature of wrestling. The story made national news. I think it's also notable that Texas even has a girls' championship. When Helen Maroulis, who won Olympic gold, wrested in HS, it had to be against boys as there was no girls' wrestling. “I just witnessed my sport change,” a longtime Texas wrestling coach said moments after Beggs, a 17-year-old junior at Trinity High in Euless whose transition from girl to boy began two years ago and now includes testosterone injections, won a championship. The victory was seen as equal parts unavoidable — quick and noticeably strong, he entered the tournament unbeaten in 52 matches against girls — and contentious. The University Interscholastic League, which oversees sports in Texas public schools, ordered Beggs to continue competing in the girls’ division despite heavy uproar and a lawsuit earlier this month in a Travis County district court.
