They are very dangerous breeds as are German shepherds
Far too few of their owners realize how dangerous they can be. What I’ll say in their defense is that I believe Dobermans and German shepherds are intelligent enough that they can be trained and be low risk to people—especially when their owners are present. I know someone who was attacked by a pit that was on a leash—she was painting her fence when it got too close. Pits have a strong prey instinct that I don’t think can be trained out of them. I think virtually all pits are too dangerous to be owned in a community. It’s not a coincidence that pits are responsible for so much mayhem.
