The term “truthful hyperbole” is central to this issue. I think Trump very much trumps up claims. “Biggest”, “Best”, etc. are terms he uses and it pisses people off who disagree. It’s like asking what was the “biggest” battle of WW2? Depends on your definition. This is one of the reasons I so fiercely disagreed with Chuck Todd regarding his “there are no alternative truths!” claim, which the media immediately glommed onto as part of their campaign to brand Trump as the Biggest Liar.
But here’s the Truth- nearly everyone does it. Climate Change is the Biggest Crisis. Putin is the Biggest Evil. China is the Biggest Threat. LGBTQ internment and death squads are the Biggest Fear. Trump is at least more accurate about reality on these subjects than those calling him a liar.
Election Fraud? That’s very possibly his Biggest Lie. Except there are proven cases of significant election fraud, and if you’re aware that only 5 counties in the US can swing an entire Presidential election, then you’d agree very thorough, and adversarial proceedings are required- and it’s a mixed bag on results of those WHEN THE LEFT CAN’T STOP THEM. And that’s why the Election Fraud issue isn’t destroying Trump as you’d expect it to. It’s not like we haven’t been paying attention, it’s that we know those who loudly proclaim “Debunked!” were doing it 24 hours after the election.
