i need help finding a new guitar Posted by liv on 11/6/2009, 12:47 pm so, my guitar broke yesterday, really bad. not sure its reparable/worth repairing. i just blew all my savings moving, so im in a sticky situation .my neighbor/friend is letting me borrow a guitar indefinitely but i will be in the market for a new one. if you are selling or know anyone selling a guitar for under like $300 i am totally interested. also if you play acoustic and love your guitar, tell me what you have, what you like, what to look for in a mid-range acoustic. ive never bought a guitar before (mine was a gift in high school.) thanks!  Post a Response

Richie Baxt fixed it...it's worth letting him look at your guitar or at least calling him up. He does good work and he's cheap. He might also, at the very least, partially trade the parts of your guitar that aren't broken for one of the great guitars in his shop. email me and i'll send you his number. You may want to call Richie at Richie’s Guitar shop 212-253-7643 I think he is on 11th street between B & C he works out of his apartment /store. Lots of people from the sidewalk cafe have used him including myself. He is a nice man and his prices are extra fair, be nice to him explain your finances and perhaps he can fix your guitar at a very reasonable rate or he will tell you it’s not worth fixing (he also sells guitars). He has strict rules about keeping appointments so don’t miss an appointment. Just so happens I am wearing his T-Shirt today Good Luck Larry  Post a Response

Posted by cluckfemme on 11/6/2009, 2:17 pm, in reply to "2nd Ben's" Message modified by user cluckfemme 11/6/2009, 2:18 pm hey liv, i've liked my seagull guitar for eight years. mine needs some work now, but, their guitars, by virtue of head-design, stay in tune really well, even with fresh strings seagull is an imprint, i think, of godin guitars you can buy a lot of quality for the cost-- they don't advertise, preferring to put the energy into craftsmanship, which pays off by word of mouth ( they aren't paying me to love them ) i think you can get a pretty good seagull new, for under $400 guitar & amp wellness center in brooklyn is the largest seagull dealer in the state usefulness of this information depends, of course, on whether or not you like the tone of their instruments good luck  Post a Response

Message modified by user Bliss 11/7/2009, 11:15 am I have played Sigma Guitars (a sub-division of Martin Guitars) since 1994. I have two identical ones now and they sound different from each other.
