I've had a long-distance duo for 20 years called The Lookalikes. We didn't know there was a Dublin band called the Lookalikes that had a huge hit in the late 70's, and were a big influence on U2. (See, in 1989 it was harder to research such things.) We've been on geographical haitus, but we still play shows every few years, and we may record an album in February.
Anyway! The Dublin Lookalikes certainly have a legit claim to the http://www.myspace.com/lookalikes URL.
What is ANNOYING is that myspace didn't bother to tell us that they had reassigned the URL to them, so all my links have been going to the other band's page for. . .how long? I don't even know! I don't use the shortcut link too much.
We are now http://www.myspace.com/lookalikes.usa
Myspace sucks SO bad now, anyway. The pages just don't load. Half the songs on our page don't play anymore, for no explicable reason. Tech support is non-existent. I only stay with them because I have 1000 "friends" there and people are used to it.
