Posted by Bee K I dropped myspace and facebook a while back for this exact reason. I find nothing liberating about those sites and I can attest to the fact that if you drop them, life still goes on and there are still ways to broadcast your music. DIY web design is something that everyone should know...in this day and age I don't think it's good for anyone to rely on a corporate "free" hosting site like myspace to be our only option for online expression.

There's something charming about old school HTML sites. That's still by favorite way to build a site. Wordpress is good for blogs and written content. Wimpy Player is a great music streaming program. These are all tools that you can use on a DIY website, just paying for the space ad building from scratch.
