As an Elvis Costello fan, the only defense I can give is that Elvis does usually give the folks new bonus tracks of mostly worthwhile unreleased or live material with each reissue. And each reissue comes because a new label has decided to license his catalogue. That said, I don't think I'm going to re-buy any of his albums after getting most of the Rhino versions. I doubt Universal is doing anything Rhino didn't do, and I don't need 4 versions of MY AIM IS TRUE and THIS YEAR'S MODEL just to hear some live shows from the '70s.
