Oh its absolutely a scam to get us to buy all the same Beatles albums again. But like so many other things in the record business (see Frank Zappa interview quoted by Ben, but also Frank Zappa's music, much of the best of it released on major labels) it both stinks and is great. The remasters (thanks Ben and Casey for explaining to Barry, better than I could have done it) sound great. And they come in lovely packages with production notes and even cute little documentaries about the albums.
