Wiggle Wart Lips

I have some wiggle warts with a recess around the line tie in the lip. The lures are marked "WIGGLE WART" on the lip and look to be new in original blue label boxes.

Has anybody seen this before? Are these real wiggle warts? Anybody know when or why this was done?
