My thought on the markings was that it seems maybe over analytical. Much like the English Bulldog crowd stating that the underbite was to help the dog breathe through it's nose while gripping a bull. I'm guessing some deep thinking non-participant might think that (and I guess I sorta see where they're coming from), but it's just not the case when put into practice. Same with the white chest. Seems like you could see a bulldog inflicted wound well enough regardless of coat color. Not to mention there are many other places dogs bite each other in addition to the chest. In regards to the baiting for training, I guess I had the historical boston type in mind. That wasn't an intended purpose for the breed was it? historically speaking? That's what I hadn't heard of before. I have heard contemporary stories of lowlifes using non-gamebred dogs or smaller bulldogs to train their prospects- which in my mind is pointless and cruel. I can't imagine any boston type as a willing participant of a scrap too long after an apbt gets ahold of him. Alternately, I can't imagine whooping a boston terrier's ass teaches a gamedog a damn thing about what to expect in a real match. Just my two cents. Love talkin dogs
