Hi Alana,
Pumpkin works great, for small dogs I have found a 1-2 tablespoons works well. The kibble switch could have been your original problem but it could have also been the ground beef or to much variety before your puppy is used to a food or protein source.
Ground beef could also be the problem.
Meat added to kibble as part of the meal and not as a small treat will eventually lead to an imbalance of calcium/phosphate ratio if only meat is fed on a consistent basis. It is often suggested to feed raw and kibble separate due to the different digestion rates, this does cause a problem for some dogs, while other eat both together with out issue.
The ground beef could of had a high bacteria load, or there was to much fat. Cheese in large quantities can be another issue as cow milk is hard for most dogs to digest.
If kibble is not the puppies staple diet, what is? If you like feeding raw in as well I would suggest research the components of the diet and feeding a separate from the kibble.
Best of luck with your puppy and show us some pictures.
Jonathan
