If she was yipping maybe the timing wasn't quite right; one thing i've noticed about most females that are in estrus is they WANT to be bred. Monitoring the levels of progesterone is an excellent indicator for timing a breeding. A progesterone test (which is necessary for AI) can be very helpful for conventional breedings as well- especially if there is travel involved for the owner of the stud or the b###h. If the breeding pair live together/ close by, you might consider just housing them together in a pen for a week or so starting 10 days after you first notice your b###h bleeding- that is a sure way to get pups. Also, there are exceptions, but my experience has been no tie means no pups. Also, if the male hasn't been used as a stud before he's still figuring out what to do, and will definitely get better with practice! Good luck
