I'm not saying he is the right man to choose a new manager but it seems he is currently the man in charge.
I can't see Frank getting rid of the Royles and bringing in 2 different decision makers can you?
As i've said before, my instinct would have been to let the Thommo situation run it's course because you had a keen bloke trying to carve a managerial career ,unbeaten as a stand in manager(even though it was only 6 games) and a connection with the club.
He may not have turned out to be good but now we will never know, and I can't remember any clubs releasing a guy that has an unbeaten record.
