No but he has to take his share of criticism. He brought in half a team in the winter and not one has improved the side, some cannot even catch the match day squad. His tactical thinking seems muddled and every other manager seems to outwit him. The players that he inherited were poor but Thompson got something out of them, including Nuttall. I was told that he wasn’t first choice but his pedigree swung it, that pedigree is now bust. The players are no hopers and they have been on the beach since February. Grab in said prematch that the fitness and consistency are coming together, he was spot on.
