The point I was making was that the player was initially given a yellow card just like the Chesterfield keeper because a penalty was given. It was only when Var showed that the offence had taken place outside the area and was therefore a free kick that the card was changed to red. I believe the phrase that is used is double jeopardy, a red card and a sending off for one offence is considered too much, a double punishment.
