Hi Jerry - so that everyone knows that we saw your message and thought this was a really good observations about the local weather and how it can be so different in places that are so close. so we sent the national weather service people who have been helping us on nunat with the weather your observation and they thought it was really good and helpful, like john lingass. they asked if they could post a message because they are really interested in weather observations from villaages. and we said yes please this way the weather service can learn about this weather - so they can try to keep improving their forecasting and also they are interested in what villages want to know if they are able to do this from their equipment. and alaska national weather service because they want to have better forecasts for rural areas has a program if people are interested in helping them. - and this program gives a way to get more village weather observations in the
systems - so that villages can look up and see weather reported from villages and that maybe the weather can one day be really good forecasts in villages 100% of time (okay maybe not that much). if people want a free training and certificate and then be part of a village network of sending observations to help the local communities and region, they can go to this site - http://www.arh.noaa.gov/spotter/
and it gives you information. Meanwhile please keep sending in the messages because they are really good and helpful and what nunat is about. thank you.
