One of the early efforts to sort out Europeans used skull shape, be it round headed or long headed.
One author cited earliest inhabitants of the Mediterranean coasts along with subsaharan African and northern Europeans as long-headed. Roundheaded Europeans seemed to have predominated in Central Asia,
Much geographic mixture has occurred, but it would appear that P trait may have arisen first among the roundheaded types and spread from there to the Mediterranean first.
A trait seems to have been most prominent in the Mediterranean coast in earliest homo sapiens.
N trait seems to have predominated in all other geographies
All the early efforts to classify homo sapiens probably have some validity, but until allellic classification is done, the categories of humans wont be understood.
