To this day in business classes, the Sinclair C5 is considered (alongside that other 1980s blunder New Coke) a classic failed enterprise. Yet prior to this, Sinclair had vastly improved home computing with the Spectrum series. For a time he was the UK's answer to Jobs' and Wozniak's Apple.
According to the obit, Sinclair never ended up using the descendants of his inventions, preferring old-fashioned tools and thought; he considered email a distraction, and was disdainful of the inefficiency and waste inherent to modern computers.
