I don't know much about mockingbirds. Maybe I've seen them without knowing who they were.
I don't think that I've ever seen a raven. We have plenty of their crow cousins here. Like the gull, crows are noisy and boisterous. I only know the raven from Edgar Allan Poe's well-known poem, where he appears as a semi-mute shadow of sinister foreboding.
