Re: Jˇhann Jˇhannsson and the A- trait
Yes, the Nordic countries have their share of A− trait, and the trait does appear to be of Caucasian origin. i.e., having a European origin by mutation very late in the most recent "Out of Africa" migrations. If there is a paucity of the A− trait in sub-Saharan Africa, Polynesia. Mongolia and the indigenous New World, Australia and Melanesia, then my first conjecture would be that the A− trait originated in North Scandinavia or Finland and propagated to Iceland, the British Isles, Eastern Europe and the rest of the world by the usual routes of settlement, colonialism, invasion and maritime trade.
The name Jˇhannsson is not a surname, but an Icelandic patronymic, or Jˇhann, son of Jˇhann senior.
