As implied by the title of this video, many Filipinos continue to hold Ferdinand Marcos in high regard. Partly this is because the corruption for which the country is notorious continued apace after Marcos departed office, and partly this is because the debt-financed economic growth which characterized Marcos' reign benefited a significant minority of the population and enlarged the middle class. Together these circumstances created nostalgia, wherein flagrant and horrific abuses are overlooked or downplayed as regrettable necessities for the time.
