Wish I had the full text of this article- about longevity and 5HTT, a candidate gene for Perfectionism. My guess is that the short allele is associated with less longevity- this based on the research about the lack of resilience shown by the short allele of 5HTT- instead it shows characteristics of plasticity- good in good environments and bad in bad environments; of course Perfectionists probably have greater longevity in good environments (compared to non-perfectionists) since non-perfectionists seem not particularly helped by good environments (nor harmed by bad environments).
