And here we see that the state of dopamine in the prefrontal cortex in Fragile X syndrome appears to be too high such that dopamine neurons (like DRD2, a narcissism candidate gene) and probably other dopamine neurons have too low a neuroactivity. This would tend to mean that individuals with Narcissism trait would have no deficit of Narcissism trait. This would not in itself cause Fragile X cognitive deficits but would be coincident of the low cognitive activity in the prefrontal cortex that would correlate with a mental retardation phenotype.
