I don't remember seeing this one before. But it does make sense. We have thought that COMT met may associate with Submissiveness or, alternatively, Perfectionism.
And the comment in the study seems appropriate also- in the worrier/warrior dichotomy, met is worrier and val is warrior, and their comment that met is too caught up in worrying to be proactive socially rings a note of reality.
In all these studies, of course, the allele explains only a tiny proportion of the trait studied, so we keep looking for big big picture.
