I have also read the three volumes AND George and Madeline hooked up in book III Heaven and Hell.After losing Constance,George went in Europe and when he came back,he organized a kind or reunion between the Main and the Hazard families and it was during that moment Madeline understand George had a crush for her.Madeline confessed in her journal she wasn't really in love him and even told her that but he still wanted to be with her.
