Posted by Scott Bood III was pathetic! I can't imagine what John Jakes was thinking! I waited for it to come on TV for eight years, and I'd scan the TV guide every Sunday in anticipation. When it finally came on a Saturday night, It was about all I could think about for six days till it finally showed! Jakes needs to redo it altogehter, and it would be wonderful if there'd be generations of Main-Hazzards on Mont Royal and Belveder to this day, with the political issues of the day causing friction between the families, just as slavery did. CIvil Rights and Jim Crow in the 50s and 60s would be a perfect example! I'm very glad your'e so enamored by North and South!

I know exactly where you're coming from! I too watch it a few times a year, though I pretty much have it memorized too! IT's a cult-type mini-series, isn't it? I had a huge crush on Brett (Genie Francis) for a long time, imaging my self winning her hand instead of Billy! I also could imagine myself as George and Orry's friend, with all that honor they had and all. I could imagine myself putting Bent in his place, and Ashton too.

: I was 10 years old and I can still
: remember the feeling when I saw the
: first part of North and South, 1987
: on Swedish TV. I was stuck!!!
: But I was so lonely then. My diary
: from that time, only N & S and
: Patrick Swayze on every side for
: years after. People thought I was
: crazy.
: I´can feel a little sad when I think
: of it, no internet, no one
: understood my feelings... But here
: you are folks! (a little late)
: Now I´m 28 but I still see it at
: least 3 times a year, although, by
: this time I´ve learned it by heart,
: offcourse.
: I´m curious about who you people
: are?
