I loved both these charactors and while i wouldn't have minded them being killed off in the end, despite wanting them to have happy endings. At least dying at the end meant we'd have them for the whole series if that makes sence. I am not sure how the books pan out compared to the tv series but the idea of Geoge and Madaline falling for each other just didn't feel right. Would you really fall for your best friends widow. Maybe this happens in the book but in three episodes of the TV show, if just didn't ring true. Just felt rushed. Maybe the book won't, if it happenes that way in the book. Book 3 failed for the simple fact not enough of the cast returned, the tone was different and sets different. Mount Royal and Belvedere looked completely different. Ashton was good, but wished there had been some Ashton and Brett scenes or at the vest least more screen time bewteeen Madaline and Ashton. I also would have liked seeing Madaline and Constance together. They never did meet on screen. The whole show felt different. Good in parts but dire in others. Just didn't feel like the same show.

I think Book 3 was poor in comparison to the first. I am currently reading the books for the first time. I have started book one.
