The part about the refugees makes me sick because Sherman and Sheridan were bad, bad guys, burning down everyone's house, then heading west to commit genocide against Native Americans. They would not have had any compassion for those people, that didn't happen ,and I hate that they are made to look like nice characters when they were evil. If they had been ficticious Yanks that would be different but they were real.
I guess the free blacks of Gettysburg harbor the same feelings about Robert E. Lee, who had condoned their kidnapping and sell into the South. Or I guess that the Southern Unionists felt the same about those Confederate generals who terrorized them.
