Improvised music on violin in the avant-garde tradition, featuring microtonality, rhythmic experiment, and extended performance techniques. The last of three consecutive concerts in York, Lincoln, and London, and part of the sequence of twenty-three performances on solo clarinet, violin, and voice, begun in November 2006 and concluding in Berlin in May 2009.
Styles J. Kauphmann is a composer & improviser, born in South Africa, raised in Botswana & the UK, and educated at Cambridge & in Berlin. His work has found an audience among those with an interest in free improvisation; avant-garde, experimental, and New Age composition; and classical & contemporary art music of other kinds.
