there are over 30 shops on okinawa...yes surf shops...and no island bros is not a surf shop-it is an omiage-ya...soveineir shop,,go check it fo yoself just a couple in case you dont believe...

yeas I am advertising! out...by the way koko head was the first shop on Okinawa, gave Mago (guy pictured) sponsorship and he had the only NEW boards onthe island for locals, they were Aipas. Satoru was still in Jr. high when he saw Mago take off at outside californias and was fascinated by surfing from that point even though he had never tried it before.. and hunted down a board for himself. also outside aja, now a dumping ground for jacks outside inside aja was THE big wave spot on the island the old dudes say it was like J-bay and seeing where the jacks are and that the waves broke from there to the now current inside aja surf spot it is very easy to see that it was truley a world class spot and the wave would wrap so that it became more offshore as it came around hte reef making it offshore in prevailing north winds in winter...must have been sick! more stories to come if people are interested
