Posted by Lynn in KC Back when we were kids, the American Farmer made up around 40 to 50 percent of the population and the Government did what was best for the farmer. It seemed to be best for the whole population. Now the American Farmer makes up less than 10% of the population and the politicians do what's best for the other 90%. They seem to forget where their food comes from. I know some people think RANGE is a little out there but someone has to stand up for us. The environmentals just love to take every opportunity they can get. They will even lie to try and get their point across. Hell, that's been proven in court. I guess my question is, Will ya'll be OK?

in "RANGE" magazine, Preston. I've been following this thread on the wolves and you have my sympathy. Growing up as an Iowa farm boy I always knew it was tough. Since we fed cattle (Dad always said our corn walked to market) we were either rich or poor and it was a long 7 year swing between. In 1964 Dad went to town to do some shopping and when he got home he said that we would be selling out. When Mom asked him "Why" he said, "In 1956 corn was bringing $.85 a bushell and I bought a pair of 5 buckle overshoes for $6.00. I just got back from town and corn is bringing $.95 per bushell and I just paid $19.00 for the same damned overshoes".
