Well, umm..Actually Chirstmas is Pagan in orgin and this is well documented. Go to your local library and pick up just about any Encyclopedia and read about it.The history of this pagan custom is lengthy so I won't fill the message board up with its history. And As far as the sources Mystic Rose gave you, I'm unsure of the validity of these sources you were told to look up. (e.i.Calculating Christmas or www.catholic.com). I have a feeling these websites suggested to you will only give you a bias view of Chirstmas and not its true history prior to the church grafting the holiday into Christianity. If you are going to study the orgins of Chirstmas(Brumalia), do it in a theological way; not in a Baptist way, Protestant way or even a Catholic one.
P.S. What do you think Jesus' respond would be to: "Lord, look at this nice symolic idol I have crafted in honor of your birth" Jesus wouldn't be very happy -- but I could be wrong -- but doubtful.
