Many factors here, so take notes....
I am 27, Fiancee is 30. Both of us were married very young, and divorced soon after. We are planning to take the Pre-Marriage Class at our local Parish to get our Certification, we are getting our witness statements completed by friends and family, we have certified copies of or divorce decrees, we have original new copies of our baptisms. He is a Catholic, and married a Catholic girl, in a non-denominational Chapel- marriage was never blessed in a Catholic church, and ended in less than a year, she was a drug-abuser, unfaithful and obsessed with her body image- would never have children after $1,000's of liposuction. I am a Lutheran, I married a Catholic boy in a Court house, with no witnesses, he did not want family to attend; wanted to keep it a secret, he would not work, he could not support a family because his bouts of rage would lose or he would quit, and could not imagine raising children in a selfish/ unstable/ loveless environment. This marriage was also never validated/blessed in the Catholic church.
We will be both requesting declarations of Nulity, and will be married in St. Thomas in a tropical garden surrounds by the Lord's splendor of creation! Now there is questions being raised if that wedding will be recongnized and Blessed in the eyes of the Catholic Church! Wondering what the Canon Law says about this, and what do we have to do to have it validated by the Catholic church.
