I am taking a religions of the west class in university and I am writing a paper about how different culture view judaism, christianity and islam. I am very interested in understanding religion because i grew up in a household of two smilar but still different religions, catholasism(mom) and islam(dad). Anyway, my question is, if Jesus died for our sins does that mean no matter what people do they will be forgiven? Because I have always understood that he died for the sins of people so they have a clean slate, but if they sin after that it is up to God to forgive those. But then I also wonder if it also means that everyone who believes in God will go to heaven, but if you commited sin you must pay for them first, which is again up to God. So, if you could clear that up for me I would really appriciate it. Thank you.
