Posted by Fr. Wayne Matthew +OPA Throughout your journey you will find many myths and cultures which subscribe to a "QUEEN OF HEAVEN". What I ask is that you look beyond the misnomers. True, various civilizations worshipped a Trinity of beings. Back to Isis, Rha, and Horus these "trinities" have been promulgated. It was not until ST. Thomas Aquinas instituted the Platonian model of philosophy based on Aristotle's division of the psyche...or was it visa versa? That the Western view of a triptych subdivision of human being was accepted. --Previous Message--

Dear Mark (Hammer of God),
The earliest Mesopotamian civs beleived that we humans were "one" in our thought, body, and deeds. As such it could not be conceived during their dispesation that G*d could become incarnate. The divine paradox arrived with the Man-Christ Jesus.
No other event in human history has had such profound impact and none other has led to such misunderstandng of the human potential.
: When I asked a priest why the Baal
: worshippers in Jeremiah 7:18
: prayed and sacrificed a BloodLess
: Sacrifice to the queen of heaven,
: he told me that they had believed
: "an ancient pagan myth about
: an angry young god who never
: refused a request of his
: mother."So when I asked him
: how that applied to Catholicism,
: he admitted that "When the
: Roman empire conquered the
: surrounding Pagan nations, since
: they were all illiterate, we
: couldn't very well give them
: Bibles to read. So we just gave
: all their pagan Idols and
: Traditions 'Christian' names!
: Thereby we made whole nations
: 'Christian' overnight!"
: Why didn't Mother Church tell us
: that?
