Please email me at cloisters@lycos.com. I may be able to help you in your discernment process. My lay society represents cloistered nuns (and monks) worldwide.
Yes, there are many cloistered Discalced Carmelites in the United Kingdom. I believe there should also be Brigittines; Carmelite Nuns of the Ancient Observance; Dominicans; Passionists; and Trappists.
If you simply need support and encouragement in your discernment process, we're here for you. I, the Coordinator, am located in High Point, NC, USA.
After a little more research, I found two monasteries of the Visitation in England. Here in the States, the Visitandines host cloistered retreats--either private (and the nuns leave you be) or discernment (two days of prayer, then working with the novitiate sisters (those still in formation). You would have to check with these British monasteries to see if they do the same.
