I am an interdenominations Christian, meaning taht I work for unity and accept all services that worship Christ, and I understand where you are coming from. However, ignorance of the ture Catholic beliefs about Mary and the saints is all too common among non-Catholics today. In fact, they are not worshipping Mary or the saints and are not putting them before God. God is recognized as the only One who can actaully act upon prayer on earth. Mary and the saints are merely the intercessors. They ask for prayers, and requests to Mary are jsutified in the wedding at Cana, where Jesus is hesitant to help, but Mary tells him He will give aid. Being an obediant son, he helped the wedding hosts. For all you Catholics, forgive me if I am mistaken, but I believe this is what my theology teacher told me. Honestly, I was hesitant to accept the idea at first until I saw a picture of Saint Maria Goretti and realized that she has appeared to me before. At that moment, I realized the truth in the Catholic teachings. Mary and the saints are not worshipped at all---they merely pray for us when we ask them so that God will help us, not to say taht He wouldn't anyway. But you know we alll like to ask for prayers...it's just asking for prayer straight from Heaven! God bless!
