Now that I had to return to P2P to get Hendrie clips, I've looked for evaluations on what is out there. I've had bad experience with Kazaa in the past, and because IMesh was mentioned a few times in this forum I tried it. Yes, it was full of spyware, but it is possible to use it without running that junk. In fact, I urge everyone to download the freeware program StartStop at http://www.tfi-technology.com/products/default.htm. I run it constantly. All it does is tell you what programs you're starting when Windows starts, and if they are starting from a personal startup folder, from the machine registry, or the user registry, and you can disable any of them. So while I have a whole bunch of spyware installed (for all I know, IMesh will stop working if I try to get rid of them), none of them ever run, and IMesh works fine without them, and I have been able to get clips. The other complaint is about viruses; but of course, you only get viruses if you choose to download them and run them. I know of no virus that appears as a Hendrie MP3; it's hard to imagine anyone creating one, other than Premier networks of course. There are clips on IMesh, but not enough; I hope other uses join the network. I have clips available, but only the most common ones you probably all have anyway. Searches and downloads on IMesh work well, I would say they take about twice as long as Napster, which is pretty good considering it's P2P. Let me know if there's anything someone with no skills and a wee bit of brain can do to keep Hendrie clips circulating.
