May,
I can honestly say that my wife and I had a similar experience when she started smoking for a short period of time a few years ago. She was 42 and had never smoked in her life. She was very stressed one day and I got up my nerve and offered her a cigarette. Once she tried it she didn't like it but she liked the reaction it got from me. We had grown into sort of a rut and our marraige was stale. At this point she decided to learn to at least smoke properly and do it on occasion. Over a year and a half period she would smoke about once or twice a week and we have never been more passionate. She only decided to quit when she tried to apply for life insurance and when she came to the question of smoking she lied and felt bad about this. She still uses an e-cigarette many evenings a week now but she rarely smokes a regular cigarette. I am happy to report that our relationship is still very passionate even though she only uses an e-cigarette except on very rare occasions.
Just because I have bonded with my wife over smoking does not mean that I am some type of poser or that I am making up stories and I like to give others the benefit of the doubt. Even so, if this person were not real, I still have found the story to be interesting and entertaining and I appreciate the input.
