Tried it at 8, started smoking daily at 11.
I had no trouble getting cigarettes - my mom always used to send me to get them. When I started buying my own (50 cents a pack!) it was an easy thing to do.
Not that it mattered back then. They would have sold them to me anyway, no questions asked.
