The bottom line for me is that everyone should have a choice. There should be a certain percentage of adult (21 and over) businesses that allow smoking indoors and maybe even have them apply for a permit so thay can gauge that percentage, and there should be at least 75% of the businesses out there that are non smoking since at least 75% of the population doesn't smoke. I also agree that there shouldn't be smoking allowed in the office/workplace (unless it is a smoking allowed adult business) as non smokers shouldn't have to be exposed to the smoke and smell all day at work. At the same time, I think there should be more designated outdoor smoking areas available and outdoor bans are a little over the top. I do think it is wrong for smokers to all gather right outside the doors of a business so that non smokers have to run the gauntlet of nicotine to get out of the building, but there should be someplace for those of us to smoke somewhere on the property.
