It is true I havent been smoking that long compared to some, or most of the peoIple here I bet.
I was 34 when I started.
As for starting , it happened while I was going thru my divorce 
I was so mad one day, I needed something to drink.There was no wine inthe house so i went to the liquor store and picked up a bottle, & i saw the cigs behind the counter and just asked for a pack of cigs one of my friends smoked. Parlaiment 100s. Once in the car i just lit up and that was it.( i smoked in high school for a while but quit) So i new what i was doing....
