Gym (opening hours etc)

I've got a couple of quick questions.
(a) Will the gym revert back to its original opening hours, i.e. from 6am onwards?
(b) If so, when will the new opening hours come into effect?
(c) Will the gym be equipped with a treadmill?
(d) If so, when will this be installed?

Fred,
- Yes we hope to revert to 6:00 a.m. opening times.
- I hope this will be soon but we have a small amount of final work to complete.
- We used to have a treadmill which was too noisy and we had to remove it.
- We will not be installing a treadmill.

Visiting any gym around the country (including other residents' gyms on the Isle of Dogs), one will find that treadmills are quite a standard piece of exercise equipment. If the use of such equipment is not feasible in Burrells Wharf due to the noise it generates, may I enquire as to the value of the sound proofing exercise that was undertaken?
Moving swiftly on, some two months ago we were informed that the gym was to revert to a 6am opening once some sound absorbent blinds were fitted. May I offer my assistance in chasing on the delivery of these blinds?

We realise that treadmills are a standard peice of equipment but when we had one in the Gym the vibrations from it went right around the building becuase of the nature of the way Plate House is constructed. The sound deadening work was to prevent the noise of other Gym equipment and jacuzzi being transmitted through the structure.
The blinds have now deen delivered and installed. We will make an announcement about the Leisure centre opening hours shortly

haha. We should have sneaked an "Attendance is Compulsory" clause into the lease and had everyone out like one of those Japanese companies that forces employees to do aerobics each morning!

Not too loud I hope otherwise there will be complaints about the noise, and we’ll be back to where we started.
Someone will also have to define ‘motivational’. My vote goes to ‘Stairway to Heaven’ by J. Page and R. Plant. I mean, of course, Rolf Harris's 1993 didgeridoo-and-wobble board interpretation of the iconic rock anthem.

I was thinking more : Morning campers, hi de hi followed by something uplifting like the dambusters march. Surelynobody could complain about that.

The Dam Busters March is good, but it's difficult to play air guitar to it.

Surely, you're supposed to run around with your arms outstretched shouting "WHEEEEEEE......SPLASH" and bouncing things across the fountain?

Yes you could do that. If you do then you also have to take great care not to use the N-word. Last time I watched The Dam Busters on TV, the N-word had been completely expunged from the film. That’s quite tricky to do, given that the N-word was the name of Guy Gibson’s dog and the squadron used it as the radio code word for a successful breach of the Mohne dam.
